Is everyone still alive or did y'all freeze?

The freeze is actually coming next 3 days, sub zero lows.

I just looked at Accuweather and they are saying -10 by 00 tomorrow morning (that's midnight).

I've been running the DS at 510º and it's been keeping the house at 73º+ looks like I may bump it up to 550º or so.

My wife always feels bad for the chickens when it gets cold like this.
If she had her way, they'd all be sittin' on the couch with us.

We've got 15 Barred Rock. The cold doesn't seem to bother them much, other than not laying much. Their house is pretty snug too. No stove though.

Yea, I did insulate the ceiling and the north side.
The roosters combs can get a little frost bit and turn black on the tips.
But it does'nt seem to bother them.
I usually have between forty and fifty birds in the coop, so it stays pretty comfortable.
You ever seen Cochins? Now those guys are built for cold weather!
