Lanc County Bald Eagle

If you live on the Southern End of the county, there are Bald Eagles nesting on the northern side of the Normanwood Bridge crossing into York County. Not sure how long they hve been there, but I noticed them the other day going to MD to help a buddy get firewood. It was pretty cool to see them there.

It's quite a sight is'nt it!
We have nesting pairs along the Merrimac river in Haverhill.
I had a young one in a pine tree out back a few years ago.
Would'nt have known it was there if it was'nt for the crows.

This eagle was well concealed except for the stark white head! It was an awesome sight if I wasnt on a bridge I would have stopped!

So is that a big river your talking about?

A buddy of mine has a older brother who lives in British Colombia.
He said the Bald Eagles out there are as plentiful as seagulls are here on the east coast.
He showed me some pics. Unbelievable!!
Nice to know they've made such a good come back.

The River is fairly large....

I wonder if Fisheries and Wildlife knows they're there.
Are they still considered an "Endangered Species"? Or threatened.

on my way down...bearing in front right hub went bad! I hate GMC and will never own another...had a 2002 HD that wouldnt start below 28 F...IT WAS GAS, they could never figure it out.....used the GM loyalty with a GM check to get this 1/2 ton Z71...what a mess!!! That stupid CEO who admitted they were building inferior parts and trucks should have been made to stick by owners as we didnt know!!! I am not big on BIG govt but this is a mess with this truck and a complete and utter cause of corporate and union greed screwing the consumer...there is no other answer. So I didnt get to see if the Eagle was there today!
