Interesting feature I was not aware of!

The AHS boiler that I have does not have a manual option to operate the grate. I don't think current production AA boilers have the handle either--at least it is not shown in the literature I got from AA when I was shopping for boilers earlier this year.

The lever that has the grate-motion solenoid at the end. It can function as a manual grate actuator. Just pull the solenoid out of the way, and stroke the lever that normally operates the grate using hand power.

If I were at home I could put together a photo..

The AHS has a motor operated grate, the chain could be removed and a handle rigged to operate the shaft for the grate mechanism. If there is a will there is a way!!
