40 tons rice coal

Has any one purchase 20 or 40 tons of bagged coal
Direct from the breakers. I live in Middletown ny
And do not want to purchase local. Nasty bunch of
Stove company's around here.

A 18 wheeler can do 20 pallets , each pallet 1.2T, that is how the blashak comes, so figure a 18 wheeler is 24 tons. If you hire someone a full load is the most economical and you'll need a way to get it off the truck unless yor driver has a lift.

I know locally here a pallet of coal went up almost $80 here to $408 a pallet!!!!! My other dealer is still at $326 a pallet, but this is last years price because he had some left but if he goes up to $400 im done with coal and back to propane. Hes said hes going to start selling stokers i said good luck if this is the going rate of rice coal he cant even sell pellets he has in stock because the majority of people are going back to gas inserts and propane.. I don't understand what the price increase is about i wish i lived in P.A.

Do you have to have bagged?? 22 tons of rice in a dump or walking-floor trailer is readily available.. and you can pick your source of coal.. Go to the 'coal quality, sources etc' forum for more info and help..

I truck in 22-25 tons of Pea coal each year,, I usually 'only' burn 12-15 tons.. so I'm slowly getting a big stockpile of coal built up. I'll get another load this spring/summer. You can't have too much.. unless you plan on moving..

Yes, I live 10 miles from Middletown, NY and the people have no idea and the dealers stink. I too truck in a TT load every year (it seems, the way the weather is going). We are indeed fortunate to live next to the NEPA boys. Try Cornwall Coal (Steve) google it. Good guy and a good company for coal and stoves and the only one here as far as I can see. Tell him Simon sent you and he will double the price (grin).

You are welcome. I think the coal is very good and I am on my second TT load of rice. Head to head against Blashek or Superior I can't judge but I bet it would be close either way. All I can tell you is it looks good and my Pocos chuck out the heat big time and this week was the big test. Of course, we all wonder where he gets it from and (of course) he won't tell. The prices are right if you buy in bulk. I hate bags and use Homer buckets to move from the bulk. I look where oil is headed and thank God I woke up.

I live just south of Schenectady, NY and my price was about $300 per ton for Kimmel's 50 lb bags, delivered and stacked outside my basement door. Over $400 for NYS is excessive. You are not that much further away from the coal region than I am.

try Centrailia coal company. google them. The guy was very helpful and willing to set up a truckload of pallets of whatever coal you want and send it wherever.

Blashak only sells through dealers. The aggravation of dealing with a bunch of folks not familiar with a 40 ton 75 foot long truck are not worth the aggravation for a TT load or two. Bulk is a different story, however if you ever screw over a driver, you will be blacklisted back to the stone age. If you know what you are doing, fine, otherwise find a good dealer who is fair and will be there next year and many afterwards. Cash up front is the best way to proceed.

I called Casey Kassa today, 140 a ton for rice coal at their yard for loose coal. 15 minutes south of scranton. I live in greenville ny. If I were some of you, I look into the one ton bulk bags, just a thought . I found a site that had them for 14.00 a piece. I am going to find a way to fill them with some sort of chute. Then move them around with a backhoe or knuckleboom. There are bags with a tie-bottom,pick them up, untie, and let the coal fly into your bin.
