heye alleg what kind of red dot are you usind on your slug gun? I have a surplus of red dots right now and was thinking of putting the simmons 32mm red dot on my 11-87. I have only used them to date on my 22 pistol and was curious about the recoil and the scope ability to hold a zero. Jim

It's a Tasco cheap $39.99 red dot. It mounts on a cantilever built onto the rifled barrel. I sight it in when I put the barrel on the gun and it stays pretty good. I will fire a few slugs to sight it in and then hopefully one more to put some meat in the freezer. I used Loctite on the mounting bolts and It holds fine. I use the SKS for plinking, it's way cheaper than shooting sabots. I could start a thread on using regular rifled slugs in a rifled barrel but that is probably for another forum. Buckshot is better than slugs and I think safer too but NY doesn't allow it.

I traded in my 9200 with the rifled barrel for a Remington 870 pump with a 20" smooth bore with rifle sights. I lost some $$ on the deal but not too much. I like the fact that I can shoot slugs and buckshot from the same sighted barrel, I also like the pump better than the autoloader. My 9200 was picky about ammo and weather conditions and a bit heavier than the 870 with the shorter barrel. Some people love auto loading shotguns, some hate them, Me; I wouldn't ever buy another one. I can probably pump out 5 rounds just as fast as the next guy can fire off 5 from a semi auto.

I have an Ithaca Model 37, 16 ga. pump I bought about 10 years ago, before they went belly-up - again. Really sweet gun, but I still can't hit a grouse to save my life....

My father-in-law's Winchester 16ga. pump is what hooked me on both the gage and the style. It really is Sweet 16.

hiya,,,i`m a nut who enjoys guns,,,,,anyways I swear by my ruger mark 2,,as far as needing to keep it clean,i`ve never had a problem,i`m not good at keping it or any other gun clean,I shoot at the elbridge rod and gun club,,and pack them up when I leave with good intentions of cleaning soon,,and that doesn`t happen often,,and its very acurate, and dependable
