Either it's blocking JS scripts, some security settings... or it doesn't render JS. I'm sure I can fix that issue unless it's being blocked. :P

java and javascript are two different things. Java is similar to flash and requires a plugin, javascript is executed by the browser and has wide support on every major browser. You'd probably break every site on the internet to some degree without JS support. Simple example is smiley insertion into a post uses javascript. This wouldn't work if you had JS disabled.

A quick search says it supports Javascript.

AFAIK it doesn't support Java either. ;)

Here's some history from wikipedia on how JS got the name:

The change of name from LiveScript to JavaScript roughly coincided with Netscape adding support for Java technology in its Netscape Navigator web browser. The final choice of name caused confusion, giving the impression that the language was a spin-off of the Java programming language, and the choice has been characterized by many as a marketing ploy by Netscape to give JavaScript the cachet of what was then the hot new web-programming language. [14] [15] It has also been claimed that the language's name is the result of a co-marketing deal between Netscape and Sun, in exchange for Netscape bundling Sun's Java runtime with their then-dominant browser

Its happening again. 11:52 this morning. I hit STOP, and got a runtime error. See attached screenscrapes. I verified the link on the bottom DOES change as I move the cursor around the Forum post.
I was in the Coffee 1-29-2011 thread.
It is still trying to finish loading, even as I type (6 minutes now)

Richard, I will PM the source to you...

Seems there is third party ad supplier that is causing issue, they are blocked.

Let me know if same issue happens again.
