Yes the gas burner (orifice size determines btuh and fuel type) replaces the oil unit, of course if a person wanted to purchase both then it could be a Tri-Fuel.

I recently priced both the 110k boiler and the 110k furnace and they are priced very reasonably.

Leisure Line's competitors are feeling the heat right about now!

Is it possible, that since Leisure Line is using the Axeman Anderson WL165 boiler, that any of the (four) boiler models could be used based on the customers Btu requirements?

For example, the WL165 with the Beckett burner is over-sized for my needs, or for that matter, anyone with a Cape style home.

The Axeman Anderson WL119 would be more suitable in size, putting out 119 mbh and is the very same boiler as the WL165 but with a smaller nozzle installed on the Beckett burner.

Therefore, would not the WL119 be sized in a better proportion to the 110 mbh coal stoker as installed on this dual fuel boiler?

The only difference between the different models of the WL series boiler is the amount of fire tubes. The 119 has 2 fewer fire tubes than the 165 that being said all you would really need to is down fire the oil gun nozzle. I think you can take it down to a .75 or .85 gph nozzle. For the coal usage you need the extra surface area do to ash fouling that occurs during operation.

We used the WL165 boiler to maximize heating surface and prevent as much heat surface area loss due to fly ash accumulation during operation. As Jpen stated you can fit the oil gun to fire at your desired lower burn rate, we can do that from the factory at your request to the dealer you purchase from. We would simply set the burner up with a smaller nozzle. Even though our configuration as purchased from AA is std 165 K on oil, at that firing rate there will be very little extra oil used because it will only fire sufficient to meet the aquastat set point. The net result will be less run time at a higher rate rather than longer run time at a lower rate. The AFUE rating is 87% efficient for both burn rates (nozzles and air settings).
