The classifieds will no longer have replies. If you want to contact someone about a listing use the PM button on the post.

What a shame........ :whip: Not blaming anyone in particular. Perhaps cabin fever and shoveling too much snow caused tempers to flare.

I learned a lot just from reading the listings and the questions.

Oh well. :flush:

I agree. the guilty parties should have been repremanded as such the past violators were regarding opinions of negative nature and content for the intended topic.... sometimes a person chiming in about something can shed a different lite on something and aid the sale as well as inform the rest.... ;)

This is above my pay grade, but would it be possible for the classified listing to be edited the way normal posts can?

Oooh, oooh, I know..........

How about a "Classifieds Section" Moderator ?????

Give them the power to remove offending posts and issue reprimands !!!!!!

A classified add is the classic Buyer Beware. It's not in the spirit of our open & free group to knock someone's add or offering. Makes for good drama but is not what I want in a group in which most of us believe in free enterprises. I like the change.

Yeah, the only thing I can think of, is you Lock the original post, then copy & paste all the text and pics to a new post. A little more trouble, but you will always have a clean, generic ad.

As with all posts there is 24 hour time limit to edit it. This is a forum wide limit, I have no way to set it different just for the classifieds but I'll look into it.

Poconoeagle wrote: How do you bump

The bump button is down in the lower left of any topic you created under the subscribe/unsubscribe link. It only appears when the six hour bump limit* has elapsed and no one has replied to it. When you click this it will send it to the top of the forum without replying to it.

*The six hours is standard limit for regular topics, please wait at least 2 weeks before bumping classified ad.

Thanks, Mr. Mayor.

I never noticed the 24-hour limit before - maybe you really do learn something new every day...
