I carry just about 100% of the time.
My personal carry item is a Springfield XD .45ACP service
For work I carry a Glock model 22 .40 cal
And there is a ton of others at home.

Not really, they bought anything anyone would turn in, passed stiff laws and banned some weapons. About the same as living in CT.heartofcoal wrote:Australia passed a law that required all law abiding citizens to turn in they're guns.

The sign on my house reads--"This property protected by a grumpy old man with a shotgun three nights a week! You guess the nights" --By the way about this whole poll--Richie Havens did a song way back when titled "Ain't nobody's business but my own"
Wood'nCoal wrote:http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1818862/postsJust knowing that residents were armed prompted them to move on to easier targets. Most criminals don't have a death wish.
Which sign would you post outside your house:Australia passed a law that required all law abiding citizens to turn in they're guns. I think that's how it went.
Criminals were in they're glory! Now folks had no protection. And criminals had nothing to fear.
"There are no weapons in this home" or "Residents living in this home are armed"

I've had my LTCF since I was 21 so, that would be for over half my life now. I usually carry a FEG .380 because it's easy to conceal. I have also been known to open carry as well. Here is a link for great information regarding concealed and open carry in Pennsylvania:

I carry both concealed and open. I'm carrying now having just returned home. VA lets you carry open anywhere but has restrictions when carrying concealed. I wish I could carry at work but schools are one of the places that are restricted to all guns. That makes them a sitting duck. I carry about 80% of the my non-work time. We store our guns in a gun vault and train our kids from a young age how to handle them. Once they reach 18 if they have completed an NRA basic gun course we give them the combination to the vault. We figure if we can trust them to drive a car safely at 16, we should be able to trust their judgment with a gun.robb wrote:My sister does....Ruger .380 LCP and my brother in law carries a Ruger P345 .45 cal. I have been considering getting the right to crry permit here in PA...deciding on pistol...I think I want a Taurus.
I have a Taurus .38 cal and I really like it. I carry it in a waist holster inside my jeans. The lump is covered by my shirt or my jacket and my arm sort of drapes over it. It's a small five shot that has exhaust ports on the end of barrel so it is loud and spits fire when fired. I always get a lot of attention at the range with it. I always go to the local gun shows and who knows what I'll bring home. Last year it was a 20 gauge shot gun. Right now I'm looking at a Sig Sauer 9mm. I'll rent one the next time I go to the range and see how it feels. Oh and I store ammo for them all; the more the better.
I have several pro-gun bumper stickers - "I carry a gun because a Police officer is too Heavy", one with a pink 9mm that says, "The first choice in feminine protection," and "I believe in gun control and I practice a lot." These are on 3 different cars. They are good conversation starters at traffic lights.
I carry because I can and firmly believe if "we, the people" don't exercise the rights acknowledged in the Constitution, we will lose them. Also I carry because those states that allow concealed carry have fewer crimes than those that don't. Just look at Maryland or DC. By carrying concealed I am playing an active role in keeping crime down in my neighborhood. The bad guys bother us less because they don't know who is carrying and who isn't. They head to Maryland and the District where the citizens are defenseless. I always say there are reasons I don't live in Maryland. Have great evening, Lisa

I was robbed in 1979, and the local police chief at the time suggested I get a gun and he would sign my conceled carry permit. I have carried ever since and must admit I have crossed many state lines far from home with it at my side. We have a saying. Better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6. I guess I subscribe to it; right or wrong.

I trust my life with Pine Tree Casting.whistlenut wrote:'Don't sell out the farm', guys!
What they don't know might be to your advantage.
How many guns do you have? As many as I need, but not as many as I Want!!!!
Ruger Country up here, and they have some very nice instruments that look, feel, and shoot wonderfully.
When the going gets tuff my Ruger SS Bisley Blackhawk 5.5" barrel .45 Colt & .45 ACP is my first choice.
Years ago, working as a buyer for a salvage yard in Mass I always carried a 1911 .45 ACP. But now living in rural Maine I don't see a need to have a CCL.

I second PAFOA.org (Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Assocation). Another good organization in PA is FOAC - (Firearm Owners Against Crime).SuperBeetle wrote:I've had my LTCF since I was 21 so, that would be for over half my life now. Carry piece is a Kahr Arms K9 Elite 98' series 9mm with ported barrel and solid guide rod and fun is a Kimber Eclipse Custom II 45ACP... Wish I could carry the 45 but its way too big and way too heavy...

I'm a hard core gun fanatic.. I grew up around guns.. My grandfather on my Mother's side was a well known gunsmith and wildcatter. He developed a .17 caliber version of the .22 hornet, the .218 Bee and the .222 in 1958.. way before the .17 was a commercial round, which I think was in the '70's..
Grandpa B knew P.O.Ackley.. who was also a cartidge developer, and wildcater. Unfortunately Grandpa died when I was 10, I have several of his sporterized Mauser-based rifles, and a few pistols of his..
My normal carry gun is a Kahr .45, when I walk out back I grab the Kahr as well as a .223 or .218 Bee, sometimes just a .22 rimfire.. depends on what's near the door..
The house has a rifle/shotgun/pistol near every virtually every door. I've been asked by guests: what's the rifle for?? My answer: Opossums, Raccoons, Groundhogs and the neighbors who aren't welcome.. that usually gets a strange look.. especially when they look at me and realize I'm not kidding..
I reload, do most of my own gunsmithing, I have a 100, 200, and 300 yard backstop/range out back, and a benchrest style solid concrete shooting bench in back of the garage.
I used to make yearly pilgramages out to Wyoming for coyotes and Prarie Dogs.. but I've been unable to do that recently.. I miss the long range shooting, and the amount of shooting in one day.. heck of a good time.
This last year I only got 4 groundhogs and one raccoon.. two rabbits in the garden, and two red squirrels chewing on the house.. a slow year.. maybe next year I'll call some coyotes out back,, they're there, I hear them most nights.. it's a hoot when the 'answer' the Railroad train horn/whistles ..
