Maypo is my first choice along with 4 slices of toast/butter. Second choice is cracked whole oats, hammered with brown sugar and peaches.

not much to share

Small handful of the cheapest raisins I can find ( when I do brave the shopping isles) into 12 oz of water - bring to boil while watching the dog make a morning log ( and that was a darn cold stinky experience this morning)
add 2/3 cup of Brand Name oatmeal because the store brand just isn't worth the 13 cents savings

Dump the dog food in his dish so he stops crying for mama

Boil off the liquid and there add a ration of sugar and 2% milk - check what BS I might be able to write here and consume before its time to walk my butt to what some folks will pay me to do.

OK--I got Quaker-oats & a bunch of raisons that if I put my little sledge to em they'll break up & I'm sure the boiling will soften em up--I gotta go w/ half & half--the oatmeal & raisons are enough healthy for one sitting

I didn't know about maltomeal either.

Just had grits for the first time ever this summer up at my uncles place in VT. I had never even seen them before, let alone eat them.

Probably illegal in MA anyway .... :woot:

There is nothing wrong with grits. I like them but just got out of the habit of buying them. My father used to eat them as a midnight snack. They are comfort food even in Connecticut. I used to eat canned hominy as well. Heat it up, drain off the water, add butter and a little salt,....yum Simple but good.

This whine brought to you by the Maltex Corporation. :)

I had Maypo this morning. When I brought it home last night my wife said it isn't that good. The first word that came to mind at my first spoonful was bland. I went and put a big blob of of brown sugar in it and that made it pallet able to me. It looks like it is up to me to finish the box, unless Ian wants it, and when its gone thats it.

Cream of Wheat tomorrow.

With but hours to go it seems as though Oatmeal has pulled ahead from the beginning. With a commanding lead the quaker himself told Malt-o-what, where to go. Trailing in second is the beloved southern cereal,.. Grits. I was really pulling for grits but i didnt really expect it to win, given the majority of NE members on here. Anyways, congrats to the ever tasteful, - OATMEAL!!! :partyhat:
