why are clearences more with Harman than Alaska

I notice that Haraman's MK series has 24"rear clearence as opposed to Alaska Kodiak with 16" rear. Why the differences? The Kodiak, has a higher rated BTU, so shouldn't the clearences be more than the Harman?

The kodiak has a removable heat shield on the back the harman does not if you go to the fair you will see have fun

Ron sounds like the Harman rep will be there again tommorow at stolz's for at least part of the day. Bloom's (alaska) was trying to burn a kodiak but were having a bit of a time with maintaining draft with a very short stack and with the temps in the upper 80's. Stolz didn't even attempt to burn any hand fired stoves only stoker and pellet buring but had hand fired on display.
