Good idea when you have a grand or two to spend all at once and a place to store 5 ton of coal. I've done it before, but it doesn't always work out.
Yeah, well 5 ton of coal is over $1300 + tax if I wanted it delivered around here. Instead it pick it up 1000 pounds at a time here and there. Then I can just keep a pile of bags near the stove and not have to take up my whole basement or try to cover them outside. I see why buying bulk in advance works for you, not sure why it's so confusing to buy it here and there though. Also not sure what this has to do with heating oil.
Anyway, my regular supplier seems to be doing good again. The small place is getting some in next week, but seems to be a bit harder for them. I have called around and found many different options, some in stock now some not.
