Guessing 2,222 I was only 62 pounds off!
I had my freshman year math teacher ruffled once....she asked what weighed more, a pound of gold or a pound of feathers. I said the gold weighed more & she said "A pound's a pound". I interrupted her & reminded her that gold is weighed on the Troy scale that has 31.1 grams per ounce, while feathers are weighed on the avoirdupois scale which has 28.3 grams per ounce, therefore one would think a pound of gold weighs more than a pound of feathers. She wasn't impressed. Then I went on to say a "troy pound" has 12 ounces, not 16, so actually a pound of gold weighs less. She wasn't quite sure what to do.
