I have been toying with the idea of adding anthracite to my bit coal yard business. Everyone on here is always talking about buying bulk and saving money but many people don't have money or storage for full load. I have ample dry storage, loading equipment and truck scales. would anyone be interested in getting a pool together next year and buying bulk. I will offer my facilities for free to forum members and sell at cost if we could get enough members interested. kinda like the Sams Club approach. It would be up to the pool as what coal we bought. Just an idea , let me know what you guys think. I am located near Cadiz OH

You are only 58 miles from Carnegie, PA. I travel to Washington, PA now and that is 25 miles. I have been buying Reading Anthracite in bulk from Russel Bros. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=4&sq ... VGXQI8eWmA This year they are selling bulk nut at $235.00 a ton.

Let me know what price you can get it for, I maybe interested in 5 or 6 tons.

Great idea-your about 25miles from me.Was buying nut for $225 and traveled 100 miles round trip. Can only haul 2ton per load but I would be in for 4 ton. Let us know price and do you plan on getting it from best price breaker?

Depends on the price and what mine you are getting it from.

Cadiz isn't far, but isn't real close to me either. About an hour.

I'm up near Ann Arbor, MI and looks like about 250 miles one way. What size loads would you deliver, and what would delivery be at the current diesel prices? Looking for rice and stove sizes, in a very good - excellent quality range.

Ann Arbor a bit farther than I was think but I know several ppl that haul that way, but then you are probably looking at a full load thing again and then it would be cheaper to get a full load straight from the breaker than hauling it twice. This is a work in progress for next heating season, AKA late summer, thats what I mean by the diesel price. It is up to 3.50 now who knows what it be by then.

I'm between Wadsworth and Medina, and I could annually be interested in 4-5 tons of delivered anthracite pea at a fair price. Based upon much that I have learned from this forum, U.A.E. Harmony mine would be my first choice.

My house is 95 miles from the center of Cadiz, OH according to Mapquest, so it would depend upon if you could deliver that far or not, and at what cost.

Willis, done correctly, with protective guidelines for you,I'm thinking it would work. If a consortium or a true Co-Op were formed, than there would be proper protections for all involved. I'll pm you after I get back from running my morning chores in this Lake-effect whiteout we're having ! Heck,at least it's warmer han it's been in quite a while !...Thanx,Bob...

Very good idea! I would be interested in 4-5 tons of good quality nut anthracite. That is, if you are willing to haul about 140 miles one way.
