I have a Pocono Top Vent that I have been using the last few years. I want to look into adding the duct top to the stove to better regulate the temperature between the two floors of my house. Does anyone know about how much the duct top costs? Does it still allow air flow out the front or does it seal that off completely?

Your top can be modified . You can either block off air from the front or leave it open the Duct top comes with a plate . Thanks,
Dave

Finally got mine ordered today. I am hoping it will be in for the weekend. Should be warm enough to shut it down for a few hours and switch it out. It will definitely get warm now that I finally have it on the way :D

You were right on that one. The top has been installed for a few weeks now and it took the temperature differential between the two floors from 12 degrees to less than 4 degrees. Looking back now, I should have just ordered it right from the start.

Thanks for the quick response of getting that out to the dealer!

I just bought a used Pocono. Nice looking unit! The duct top leaves the front "stock" so you will get some heat from the stove as it sits. With the duct installed it makes it so all (most) of the heat from the back and both sides is ducted to where ever you want.

Was the duct top very expensive? Any tin knocker could certainly build one, but I'll bet the factory can do it faster & cheaper. Sometimes it pays to go to the source!

Thanks for the compliment Freddy. We use a rolled 16 or 14 gauge galvanized ring 2" wide with tabs spot welded on it for welding to the top. Simply place the ring in the location you want to vent from and cut out the circle using a plasma cutter or other means. The price for the tops will be set by your local dealer, if there is no one close enough to warrant the trip PM Flyer or I and we will get you set up, probably considering your vast fabrication abilities a flanged ring of your desired size will be the easiest and least expensive option.

Enjoy your new find! :)
