Sorry to say, but I think Kentucky is about as far south that it is available, shipping cost make it too high to be competative.

Once we move to Louisburg NC, we are going to have a tractor-trailer load of rice delivered, right fron the NEPA breakers. That should last us about 10 years. Its a big, up-front expense, but we won't have to buy again for at least 10 years..

DVC...just a question about your stove...(sorry to get off track)...but I had been interested in that stove, but I previously had my Alaska in the family room where the DVC would go, and I couldn't stand the noise, so I put it downstairs in the furnished basement...how do you like the DVC? Is it in a living area? Is it noisy?..Quiet??
Thanx!

Check out the Virginia page. Clink "board index" in the upper right hand corner. Known anthracite dealers in VA are posted there. If you come across any others please add them. Have you done a dealer search with both Reading and Blaschak coal companies You maybe able to find someone through there. Ask at your local farm stores, too. Someone might be carrying it but not advertising it. Good luck, Lisa

Re DVC,

It's all down to noise tolerance. I have a number of stoves as you can see and the common denominator is that multi 100 cfm fans make noise and there is no magic formula. To distribute the heat in any of those powerful stoves once they are turned up it takes a fan - that is life. The only alternative is hydronics and that is not my personal choice but it may be an alternative for you. So you need to design around that one.
