SNOW!

SNOW!

PostBy: WNY On: Mon Feb 21, 2011 10:18 am

We had 2 days of 50 degrees, at least we melted almost all of it....until last night.!!but...

They said we would get some snow last night, I think we got 8-10", At least no freezing rain or ice. I can deal with the snow. Just got in from snowblowing for 2 hours, did all the neighbors, it was probably almost 20-24" deep at the ends of the driveway after they just plowed!!

:)

Near Pittsburgh we got a good coating of snow, then it turned to a cold rain. Been just plain nasty. At least it was still warm enough that the rain stayed rain and didn't ice everything up. I'd much rather have feet of snow than this stuff. You guys are lucky up there!

Send that 8-10" up here. From the last warm spell everything is hard as a rock. Could use some of that soft stuff on the trails.

About 1" of powder for us, but it has been COLD! 10 degrees and windy. The last month has been very cold with the exception of a few warm days.

We got between 8 & 10 inches here also. It came down fast. I went to bed last night at about 10pm and it hadn't even started yet. Got up at about 4:15am for a motor vehicle accident and couldn't believe how much had fallen in such a short time. Was 31' when I went to bed, 25' when I left for work at 6:15am, 17' when I got out of work and currently sitting at 15'.

We started off this morning at 50* but it fell steadily all day to an overnight low of 29* or 30. We are in a winter weather advisory until mid morning tomorrow. They say rain, which we have now, freezing rain, and finally a wet heavy snow causing power outages and down trees. They are only saying one or two inches of snow but it will be on ice. I suspect school will be delayed by 2 hours in the morning and if it's worse then they are predicting it will be canceled. I hope it's not canceled because we are out of make up days and any days missed now will be made up from the Spring break. The silly part of all this is that we can expect it to be back in the 50s on Wednesday. Take care, Lisa

Snowing here, a mix of sleet and heavy snow. Calling for 4-8 inches by daybreak. I've got the coolant heater for the generation turned on to make starting the diesel easier if needed. Thank God it's not windy. Temperature is a few degrees below freezing. Should be interesting in the morning. :( Schools are out of snow days here too.
