Level the yard. I can appreciate that, but, he didn't have to go right up against(and over ) the property, the bank is now 8 feet tall and at least a 50 degree pitch, all the junk, rocks, grapefruit size stones end up in my yard and I need to clean them up every time I cut grass, the dumb idiot JUST MOWES OVER THEM (trust me, it rattles like you would not believe, the other neighbor worries about the stones hitting his vehicle). He added a pool and that was another laugh when it collapsed. More entertainment

Goes to show what I know -- I didn't know bamboo grew anywhere but china or Japan!

I remember my grandfather refusing to work on a Toyota or Honda my aunt had bought back when they first started appearing on our shores. He told her: "Bring it to a garage. I don't work on ANYTHING with BAMBOO connecting rods!"

Yeah ... neighbors .... Mine are great -- best ever, actually. But where I grew up there's yuppies .. and even worse ... wannabe yuppies. My parents have the burden of living next to them still. I, thankfully was able to leave. Soon they will too. I can't even post here some of the things that have gone on between us & some of them -- been going on for 20 years. I had a few words with them in defense of my parents, so ... lets just say have to be careful what I broadcast on the net.

People can be real *censored* these days. It's just disgraceful, & un-American the arrogance of some people. I'll stop now before I get pissed just talking about this ... :mad3: :out:

In my county what he is doing might be classified as a "rubble" landfill. Not zoning right in residential areas. Contact your zoning officials and file a compliant. If it's a landscaping project many times there is a restriction on how much land area can be disturbed at one time. Here in Maryland the intent is to control erosion, the runoff which ultimately ends up in the Chesapeake bay.

That all said I have seen some nice berm landscapes, that give privacy and noise control. But that doesn't change the fact that your neighbor is an *censored*. He should have discussed his plans with you.

Two years ago I had a neighbor with 5+/- acres that filled in a low lying are with 150-200 tons of fill. He's a self employed long distance trucker and wanted to make more parking area. The project was done without permits. He filled in a mapped and designated flood plain. Ultimately he had to remove it all and restore the flood plain to the original contour. He was defiant to the end. Only when the county started having contractors bid the job did he start removing the dirt. He must have been under a deadline because the job worked around the clock. The county was going to record a lien with interest against his property.

I know what he was doing was wrong, flood plane, soil errosion, one call to the EPA would of put a stop to it. I did not want to be a prick, why I was so nice I'll never know. I said to him what if I would fill in higher than him and let everyone else have a water flood.

Buddy of mine now deceased had issues with his neighbors........How did he solve the problem ?? Well 1 time he ordered a truck load of manure from a local farmer and told the farmer to just drop it off in front of the garage since he was going to be spreading it around his flower beds. Seems like he knew the neighbor was going to be gone for a week on vacation and comes home to find the stinking pile of dung and couldn't even get in the garage.

Another time he called the local mortician and acting as the neighbor told them that his wife had died and to please come help remove the body . Mortician shows up asking where Mrs. so and so was as they were there to pick her up !!!!

Buddy was a real crazy S.O.B. A former 'Nam P.O.W. who didn't give a crap anymore. He'd already been through hell and back. And of course this all took place before caller I.D. and the rest of the tracking devices we have now a days.

Yep he was a genius. And a real good friend in the process. I miss him !!

As far as the trip.......it was way too short. Well part of it was our own fault. Spent too much time carrying in the beer on Thursday afternoon so we decided to "lighten the load" so to speak. That eliminated the first day's ride and gave the state of Maine $ 45.00 since we didn't really need a season pass now that we would only need a 3 day pass. But as long as they use it on the trails, it was a good investment for next year.

Only got down to -12 one night. Put on a lot of miles. Ate at Pelletier's restaurant. Just too short of time for what we wanted to do.

Oh and I lost my Garmin 60 CSx on the trail. Someone will be getting a nice lost and found item. And I had just installed new batteries that morning.

Wish I had the time to make another trip....or lived closer !!!!!!

Enuff off topic.......that bamboo is nasty stuff. Use only as a last resort.

AA130FIREMAN wrote:After I told the neighbor nicely about dumping the dirt on my property, the next night when it was dark he started dumping bricks around the pins. I know where the others were cemented in and I measured to confirm they were moved. I had talked to the state police, said it was a civil matter. I moved the bricks with my plow and the pins where they were. I overlooked when he installed underground fence , and other things. This was where I drew the line. IT'S just like stealing in my eyes. The state police didn't seem to think so. Taking something that is not yours ???
The police wont help you in this matter. You will have to talk with a attorney or at the very least a knowlegable county/township official. If it were me I would ask a local official who the township attorney is as it will fall onto thier desk sooner or later if you decide to push!
