Does anyone have a favorite old diner that can park a truck and trailer in their lot? Gotta make a run this week and never seem to find eats in that area.I like to do a tiny bit for the local economy whenever I get the chance to get upstate. Thanks Mike

Here is a link to a NE PA trip that may list some prospects http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/tm.aspx?m=498970 #3 on boomer347's list in in Mt Carmel and google street view shows ample on street parking nearby.
Not sure where the 'Anthracite cafe' is in relation to your trip but it seems like an interesting place.

Depending on which way you are going/coming and what size truck/trailer there are a few. Village town restaurant at the intersection of rte 61/54 outside Mt.Carmel. Pine Burr Inn along rte 61north of Mt.Carmel. Mays drive in at the intersection of 61/54 in Ashland. Greens restaurant on rte901 in Lavelle. 901 pub on rte901 down the hill toward minersville past the interstate. And probably dozens more. These are just a few with better access for a truck/trailer.

Thank you all for the help with the diner locations. It was a great day and finding new diners is always great fun.It ranks right up there with buying the best coal on the face of this ol' earth.Mike

I found the 901 Pub easy enough but it was mid morning and too early for lunch. I got to the coal yard at the harmony and loaded up but did not pass by any other diner since the 901.What I wanted to try was the one on the other side of Mt.Carmel at 54 and 61that was mentioned but wound up the other direction on 61 somehow and did not want to backtrack with a full load on and waste fuel in the process.I kept coming down 61 and stopped at the diner in Frackville and found some great pea soup.I want that one near Mt Carmel on 54 & 61 but that will have to be when I take on the next load for stockpiping this spring/summer.I am sure once I get there once I will have it locked in for the future trips.Thats my goal.
