The Kodiak I ordered has a 24" min clearence to combustable wall of 24" on each side. This stove is going in my family room, in between a fabric couch & a lounge chair, both will be 24" from side of stove. Am I ok here?

There usually is a significant margin of safety built into reccomeded #s. I would say yes and temper that with checking how warm they become when the stove is cookin' on high.

24" is recommended factoring in a worst case scenario of a glowing cherry red stove, which could ignite combustibles within that distance. My Harman recommends 18".

Even with the stove full blast, items 18" away are just warm.
