the flowers bloom?
Here are two photos, taken from the same spot. One is last July, the other this morning. Any guesses when today's pic will again look like last July's?

We've never had the trellis disappear!

Yesterday was a first for me. I've never, ever seen four inches of snow fall in 15 minutes, but that's exactly what happened yesterday, and that's what finished burying the trellis. They had predicted "chance of flurries". We got flurries around noon, not even enough to make the ground white. Then around 4:30 it got so, so dark and suddenly it was snow so hard you couldn't see across the street. It was all over in 15 minutes & we had just over 4 inches of heavy, wet fresh snow. It stayed dark for half an hour, then went back "to normal". What a wild ride this winter has been.

And that little snow shower created quite a mess out there on the "Orrington Hill" road didn't it ???

I thought that by now the snow plow truck drivers would have learned how to drive in it !!

Am I remembering correctly that you and a couple other Mainah's were commenting on the lack of snow earlier this season??!! :D

My guess would be July 4th!

For all you know, the flowers may be as beautiful under all the snow as they were last july, you will just have to shovel or you may never know !!! :P

I've got a stack of new seed catalogues!
The Maple trees are tapped.
My local feed store has plenty of chicks for sale

We got the same snow squall an hour and a half earlier. Not as much snow as you got, but a lot of wind, and it brought down the roof of the local ice arena with a mighty whumph. Four hours later and there would have been youth hockey leagues and lots of parents in the arena.

Well if your place is anything like mine I would say end of June early July. Under the right conditions on the shady side of my stone wall I can have snow that late. Good for keeping a beer or two cold while I work outside!
