The tlc 2000 is meant to burn wood with the door open.

That would be my stove. Harman TLC 2000. 72,000 btu's. Some one else from up where you are from, is using it to burn Bit. I forget who it is though.

Edit....Sorry AKShadow, I was referring to someone up in Alaska having some one near him using a TLC 2000 that was burning Bit. I also recall some one in Wyoming using Bit in a TLC 2000.

It burns wood just fine with the door closed because of the secondary air adjustments on both sides of the stove. All you have to do is close the primary air on the bottom. I never use my stove for wood burning but
a friend who lives close to me uses his to burn wood a lot in the spring and fall months.

I was at my local DS dealer yesterday and he was talking about it. It was introduced about two years ago and it is a different burn than the normal blue flame dancing around on the coal, He said its more of a fire ball in the box. I have the brochure in front of me and it states for that model and it's big brother an "EXTREME" clean burn. He also stated that there is some sort of ceramic plate mounted on the top inside of the fire chamber and does not know if this is a part that can be worn out or not, He also wasn't sure of the material this plate was made of.
I am just quoting what was said to me by him, I do not know the validity of any of these statements but he has no reason to lie to me as I wasn't interested in that model anyway.
