You will have no problems with the base burner part clogging up. You always put the stove in direct draft when you shake it. The base on the Glenwood gets cleaned once a year in June when I go over the whole stove.nortcan wrote:As usual,
I have an other question for the Base Burner owners. When in base mode, the air/gasses...exit from the combustion chamber then down to the base under the ash pit. In that U turn chamber, do you have to clean the ashe accumulation very often in the heating season?
All these questions help me to wait till the first Golden firering...lol
Thanks

Back with new dresses for the Black Magic Golden Bride.
The nickel is very nice and the guy offered me 2 styles: one like a new stove and one like the original finish. I went for the original one, so if the casting had some imperfections, they stay on. They also had to re-write a couple of almost erased letters on the name plate, I didn't even saw that when I show them the parts. They really know their's job. The owner of the shop also machined a screw that was not like the other one before the plating work.
The stove is almost like when new for the nickeled trims. Originally, the big "head" or air convector double heater and the base were nickeled. But I think it's OK for now.

Wow! Really looks great. I don't think you have to do anything further. One of the first things I noticed about your stove is that the iron is smooth with no rust pitting which many old stoves have. Like your pictures, big and sharp enough to see detail.
Thanks Franco.franco b wrote:Wow! Really looks great. I don't think you have to do anything further. One of the first things I noticed about your stove is that the iron is smooth with no rust pitting which many old stoves have. Like your pictures, big and sharp enough to see detail.
From you, it's great. Honestly, when I placed the nickeled trims for the first time I was not so sure of the results. So used to see the BB in all black. But after a second look all is nice now.

The plating made a big difference. Your hard work paid off!

Wow! she looks beautiful compared to my "grande prostituée noire". Enjoy!
I can't believe you are not taking her for a test drive. It is still cold very much south of you.

Nortcan... That has got to be one of the nicest STOVES I have ever seen. There is just that special something about it. The plating brings out the nice lines of the stove even more. Again, good luck with her.

I have a question: When you step back an look at her, how can you possibly stop smiling so very hard
Simply outstanding, nortcan.

I think Nortcan is afraid of firing her up... He'd rather look at electric light rather than the true dancing blue ladies...lobsterman wrote:Wow! she looks beautiful compared to my "grande prostituée noire". Enjoy!

It can't be warmer up there than down here... No other explanation comes to mind... LOL
