So what works good for the VigII doesn't automatically for the Bride.
But the temp. still much warmer now than it used to be. Nice to be able to idle the 2 stoves, would be impossible to do it with 2 wood stoves and be confortable in the house.

Fred, no problem, just get that sleigh, you have the horse so hurry up and come have a good ""coffee"" with us. Don't forget the tequila...

nortcan..... When can we expect to see a video on the Golden Bride :?: You can't keep us in suspense down here much longer. When you get more familiar with her we would really like to see her in action. Stay warm up there. :)

Nortcan thought you might like to see the coal stoves that Sears sold around 1900.

Rich, are you shure it was from Sears? I just call and they told me that the stoves were back order. LOL I thought 1900 was the price. Re-LOL.
Thanks for the nice info. At that time they had a real nice choice to choose from.

It is funny to see how all can be improved.
The lid for the Brides' ash pan is working very well buttt, when sliding it over the pan it was like wanting to stuck a little and I had to play with the lid so it can be push in or pull out. Not a real problem buttt. So yesterday I decided to take care of it.
I cut the lip under the lid where it slide over the pans' lip only on one side, the other one had the correct play in it.
Now just have to put the lid on the ash pan and push, smooth like a charm, no more jamming. Buttt will need a new paint on the lid.

The VigII also had a bad fit for the ash pan and the lid. It can be seen on the video, when I empty the ash and put the lid back on the pan. There is a jamming but for the vid. I tryed to make it unseen. So I decided to cure that, I had to make a sort of support/guide under the inside of the lid at the back. That way it can guide the lid at the right place.
Before finding that small modif I tryed many things without succes buttt finally got it.

Just an other story from Québec!

Hi, my wife was having problems to remember where to place the check damper lever so I made some notches showing the adjustement needed.
Much more easier to remember the best working point accordind to the conditions.

Nicely done Pierre! That's a great feature on the bride to have a lever for the check damper!
