cancel ad in classifieds?

cancel ad in classifieds?

PostBy: Freddy On: Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:31 am

How do I cancel an ad in the classifieds or at least mark it as sold? The Pocono I had for sale has been sold, but I don't see how to let the public know.

I've been meaning to make some special icons for that. Instead of locked it will say "sold".

The ad will automagically disappear after 30 days.

What does "locked" mean? After all, from day one, aren't they so you can not reply to them other than by PM? Yup, I knew they went away after 30 days, but that doesn't stop me from getting asked every day for 30 days if it's still for sale! So, yes, it has been sold. Did I mention that? Yup, sold. *smile*

locked , meaning closed for business from all sides. pad locked like the icon that comes with the function

i.e. I-Phone 16g 3G for sale

When a topic gets locked no one can reply to it. In this case it means "sold". Like I said I need to change the wording and icons so it indicates "sold".

But, no one can reply to a classified from day one. I'm confused! It doesn't take much ya know. ;)

Freddy, consider the locked icon a "sold " icon. They aren't locking the topic but marking it sold.

What I'm going to do is changed the lock to "Sold!", the wording in the drop down box will be changed to "Mark Sold".

Technically there is no difference between the two except the presentation.

As with all posts you can edit it for 24 hours. I have no way of making just the classifieds editable without some modifications to the scripts, all coming at some point. The classifieds will actually have a different look than standard forum when I'm done. ;)
