The Wilmington Coal Dealer is Kurtz Coal Co.(Amish) and Gilliland Hauling (724-964-3145) is the yard operator & delivery service.(horse & buggies make it tough)
It's their first year for "BULK" rice coal...they have been carrying Blaschak's Bagged Rice Coal by 1.25 ton pallets.
The big sellers there are the nut and pea sizes...both bagged and bulk. Glad to see they added the bulk rice.

Naturally, delivery costs will be the added in variable due to distance of the trip, with picking up at yard being at a fixed cost.

2010 prices for bulk were $193.00/ton at the yard, $208.00 delivered + both req. a $10.00 loading and weighing fee.

2010 prices for bagged were $295.00/ 1.25 ton pallet + $5.00 loading fee.

And NOT taxed from PA.

Was talking to the brother-in-law yesterday, He told me he run out of oil last week and had to order 150 gallons and that bill came to nearly $500.00 for 150 gallons, He coulndnt remeber off hand exactly but said he thought it was $3.86 gallon. I know you fellow's mentioned it before but i cant remeber, how many gallon's of oil is one ton of coal equal to?

The answer is..."it depends". Figure out the btu content of one ton of your coal, then divide it by 140,000.

Anybody else think that pile looks a little small for 12 tons ?
Maybe the perspective is bad.

This coal ash has a different color to it then my other coal, more of a white ash, the old coal had a reddish color ash. Can you tell the dif? Also has some what looks to be unburnt black coal in it, but i dont think it is unburnt coal, could it be black shale? I know here were i work we uncovered coal ( Bit Coal ) and it had black shale ontop of it, wasnt very much if i remeber correctly
