Thanks stoker don! Unfortunately the utica boiler made a trip to the scrap yard. Made almost 300. However I saved the old beckett oil gun and circulator pumps for spares. Unless someone could use the oil gun, worked fine before I removed it. I switched because dhw coil bolts broke in housing and unit was 18 yrs old and inefficient. K4 is dual fuel though, just in case.

I just now saw this post. Thankyou for the kind words, I am VERY proud of my install. I designed and installed the system myself after many many hours studying.

Hello boots, you should be very proud of your hard work! I wish more people cared about heating units because I wanted to show everyone my k4! Even though I had keystoker do the install. So that being said you should be even more proud because you did the planning and the work! Great job and enjoy! I am!

Hoping to fire it up this weekend. My wife got tired of only having half the house heated with a brunco spitfire fireplace Insert, and I got sick of seeing and paying for oil tank to be filled to heat the rest. Kaa-4-1, 2k sq/ft, 6 zones, 1 being radiant floor in kitchen. Taco 007 variable speed circulator. Crossing my fingers and hoping it works as expected. Has anyone ever plumbed the boiler by-pass loop to the second lower inlet/ where the drain is normally located? Keystoker said that the main reason for the loop is to avoid temp statisification, not so much for cold water shocking. Not sure if it will mess with the delta t that controls the circulator. But if it does won't be to bad to cut and move over. WANTED TO THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON THIS SITE THAT ASKS AND ANSERWRS QUESTIONS. searching this site has been invaluable to getting this planned and hooked up. Thank you.

Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately round one is an epic fail. Draft is unregisterable and aquastat is DOA. High limit won't shut off/ and when it does is inconsistent. Keystoker is sending a replacement. Don't understand the draft prob? 8x8 clay about 22ft and 6ft above roof. Is about 50 degrees here today. I have 6 liner I can put in but I think that's a question for another section in forum.

Tony I also had draft issues w my k4. I installed a cap and problem solved. Then I had to adjust the resistor for the low blower speed durring idle. Then my t stats werent working right. After all the kinks r worked out its a great unit! No big project is complete without some level of frustration!
