I'm heating 3400 square feet no problem. I'm intensionally heating 1700 square feet. to 73*. I'm un-intensionally heating 1700 square feet of un-insulated block basement to 68* (heat off piping). The Kaa-2 would have no problem bringing the basement up to 73*, if I had radiation in the basement. I'm not heating my DHW water yet. I'm all set up for it, but need a tank. This is a simple Primary / Secondary system.

Thanks.... Yes, Many kinds of boilers, and even more types of installs. It is the art, and science behind every install that facinates me. Even more so after my own research / install. Every time I get on a new construction job with hot water heat, I go examin the boiler / piping arangement. I look at old work too. Guess it depends on where I'm working. For me, stoves are stoves. some better / worse. Don't get me wrong, I like stoves. A nice boiler install simply facinates me. I enjoy looking at the many ways it's done.

Serviced 2 old Yellow Flames today. They ain't pretty, but they 're still runnin' good!!! Tomorrow I'm servicing a losch, I'll post some pics.

MATTHEW !!!!!!! You my friend are a huge book of knowledge that you need to share with us guys!! You service coal boilers. Wooooo Hooooo! Most of us here could benefit from most of what you forgot. Is there any way we can get you to share some of the tricks of the trade that you find keeps the boilers up and running?Alot of what we know we find out here. PLEASE be so kind and share. Would you consider sitting around drinking a couple brews and talking about it. I'm sure I could find a few people to come along and buy

Would I consider sitting around drinking a couple of brews my friends!!!!!!. It's how I made a living for the past 20 years. I own and operate The Brass Tap Tavern in Pottsville Pa. since 1991, 5 blocks from the oldest brewery in america "Yuengling". Servicing coal stokers is a part time job. I like to make it full time. Anyone wants to make a road trip I make the best cheesesteaks in the county! Here is my place on St Patty's Day. Sorry if I'm breaking the rules by posting non boiler pics. But you did ask.

Thanks! Let me know if anyone is serious. I'll set up a tour of the brewery, a coal company, and then we'll sit around drinking Yuengling beer, eating cheesesteaks, and talking coal stokers!!!

Great idea I'll start working on it.Tour of the Yuengling Brewery, DiRenzo Coal Co. ,Monster Stoker/boilers, then cheesesteaks & beer.

Its getting late have to go make the cheesesteaks for the night. Check in w/ you guys tomorrow. Keep the pictures comming I love see other people's work. Great job to everyone who posted, its nice to see people taking soo much pride in their stokers.

wow, how can i follow that???? lets not forget about kenny's setup, it looks really great. has it ever been used before? mine is a work in progress. got the boiler last summer, installed over christmas break, put the harmon on 2 weeks ago. works ok now, but i don't think its big enough for the winter months. the one on the floor is what was in it. i talked to the plumber who put the efm oil in back in '89 [12 years before we moved in] & he said they changed out an efm stoker, probably from when the house was built. i wish they would have left it.
