I bought the auger; although, I'll be lifting buckets until the new coal bin gets built and the auger gets set up...

I didn't know the low water cut off (LWCO) was an option. Did you get it? I want to install one on my boiler. If you got it, could you post pictures of where you located the LWCO box? Right now I have 4 dangling wires in my main power/grate power switch box....

I wish AHS made their boiler options more visible to customers... The only way I found out about the auger was through Whistlenut.

I did not get the LWCO option either (as I also didn't know it was an available option until after I received my S-130 and read the manual), but I did go ahead and purchase a Taco LTA1203S-2 low water cut-off switch. I'm going to install it into a 'Tee' on the hot water outlet just a few inches above the boiler, and wire the main power to the boiler through it.

The PVC you see is waste water exiting the house to the septic system; but, I have a central VAC system too...

BTW: I'm not completely finished with my wiring and plumbing. I still need to wire in the Taco 4 zone controller box; which, is a nice piece of equipment. It really simplifies controlling your zones. My dump zone isn't plumbed in yet either... I currently plan on using a Modine heater for the dump zone. Hopefully I can finish the installation over the next couple of weekends.

Next big project? Building the coal bin and getting the auger set up. I'll post pictures as I make progress.

The AHS auger is a true BEAST!!! I'll post a picture of it soon. It's definitely "industrial strength."

That auger will outlast all of us. It is NOT the 'contractor grade', it is 'ARMY Strong', extreme duty. I have two that are 25 years old and still perform as new. You can gang them together over extended distances if required.
Many of the Van Wert's used augers even more extreme than these. I've seen a few Keystoker setups in 500K applications, and some with an ash auger made to order.
Member Pacowy has a huge EFM 85R with the extreme duty set=up. :idea:

Actually, I had heard of these things, but thought they were pretty much lost to history until I found this one. As I understand it, the 85R, and the slightly more reasonable 60R, were "big brothers" of the "UFR" conversion stokers. The 85R has a 26" burn pot and weighs about as much as a complete 520 unit (around 1250 lb). If you're used to the quiet efficiency of the 520/700/900 boilers you might duck a little when it starts up, but we've been very pleased with it.
