I examined some South T. rice coal last year. It was very clean, uniformly sized, and appeared to burn great in the EFM sitting next to the bin. If you do some searching, you will find that many other forum members reported great results with their product.

As crazy as it sounds there is still people delivering coal like that. High lift is a big investment but at the very least I'd be using dump with a auger.

Richard, I think you missed my questions here.
freetown fred wrote:Richard, you didn't answer this one to my satisfaction :?: Is there any up front charge?? What if we order & you don't get any other orders from that particular area?? What is the going price at S.Tamaqua right now, today?? Or, more to the point--what is your price today,if I were to call & order 5 ton??

fastcat wrote:Ya this is most likely one of those up front deals, he sells you 5 ton delivered to Maine for $500 upfront and next winter you freeze your buns off waiting on your coal that will never arrive. :x When someone says the price is to good to be true it most likely is.

well i know when someone puts an order in with us we schedule it for delivery now longer then a week after the customer calls, that gives us enough time to schedule in more people in route on our travel to the customers property

How much can you carry in one load? 24 ton TT loads? Tri-axle? 10 Wheeler? 6 Wheeler? Donkey Cart? 5 gallon buckets?
I don't think you need to say 'long distance delivery cheap', only 'Fair prices for extended delivery zones'. I for one don't want anyone losing money on their delivery, so 'Fair' works for me. If you want a zip code or twenty, I'll PM you today.
I've had over 100 TT loads myself, so I have a little experience with delivery, and with appreciating quality. Don't give away the farm, just be careful how much milk you can supply and still survive.

ok i see, well i called down if someone like me or you would go to pick up today we would pay 180 for a ton, but if a dealer would go down he would get charged 155, and when butch goes down he gets it for 140 a ton, just because all the coal we pull out of there, there is no front charge, and also if you would call for coal and we couldnt find anyone else to deliver to on the way you will still get your coal within a week, but that has never happened so far, we keep a good record of who we sell coal to and how much coal was delivered, and sometimes we will call people that would be in route, when we think hat they are low, just to make a full load, because we do long distance delivery in nj and ny and we are located in nepa

we can carry 8 tons at a time, we own an 60's series 84 chevy, since we are located in nepa, a local delivery would be 175, and i think upper newyork would be 195,

Hey FreeFred, looks like your question got side stepped.....

I stopped at the stcp, they were installing a new scale, saw and talked with the loader operator.

I think he said they can carry 8 ton. I would like to try some of this coal as a co-worker said South Tamaqua coal pockets was pretty good. Red ash i believe. I would like a price to 18424, 2 ton, maybe 3 ton just to try it out. Mapquest is showing me 62 miles, 903 to 80 to 380 to 507.

 Funny you say that, I talked to a fellow getting a load at uae and he claimed something about working (either there or around tamaqua) and he goes to uae to buy. Not saying anything bad about south tamaqua coal pockets, I did have good results.

FYI

I called Butch this morning. Nice guy, knowledgable on the subject of coal, coal delivery BUT his current truck only hold 8 tons (my group needs 9-10) and he doesnt come to Long Island. We agreed that as the summer began he might consider coming out here on a weekend though.

Anyway, as noted in this thread, I suspect its be a good idea to call him.
