very cheap long distance coal delivery nj ny pa

Hello I am from northern New Jersey sussex county and I was talking to a gentleman in a gas station , we were on the subject of burning coal and he told me he and his son in law get coal from a guy named Butch and he said the coal was good at a good price , I dont know for sure I have been buying bagged from Wilsons ( very good clean coal ) and from Fairclough . I do need a supplier to deliver to me or I can go and pick up good anthracite nut coal looking for 3 tons I am going to give this " Butch guy " a call if the price is right and I can go get a bag or 2 and try it . Just sold my Vermont Castings vigilant 1 which I burned coal in for the very first time this year thanks to the very informative guys on this site, now I am hooked so I just picked up a Harman magnifier mark 3 installed it today and I am baking myself out of the reck room This stove is an inferno.

Sorry to hear you have been buying from Fairclough. Been there, done that. Do they have coal that actually burns?

The coal I purchased Friday burned pretty good in my new Harman magnifier mark 3 Do you know of a place where you can go and pick up good coal in bulk for a good price?

I am currently burning UAE Harmony coal in the EFM. As a matter of fact that's all I have burned in it since I installed it. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. They are at $150/ton right now. Of course you will need some sort of truck to go and get it.
In the Harman this winter I burned about 2 ton of coal we hauled out of a cellar in Avenel and Kimmel's from American coal.

I thought it would be a good idea for Butchie to be amongst people who

I have burned 7 tons of his coal in the last three seasons.
I just got an additional 8 tons.
My brother in Westminster MD burned 8 of his tons.
Burns nice and hot. Honest guy, hard worker.
I got his # from a kid at work,whose father has been using Butchie for years...Sussex NJ.

whats the going price for butchies coal? anybody ever use it ? how does it burn ? ash content?

He hauls from the two places in Tamaqua. South Tamaqua coal pockets or American Premium Anthracite
which is behind S.T.C.P All of the coal will be Surface mined from many independent coal mine owners in and around the area the coal will be both white and red ash depending on what veins the surface mine operators are in at the time
S.T.C.P does or did have some opening mining pits of their own The coal ash from both places will run from 9 to 13% ash content depending who's coal their running that day btu will be 12.900 to 13.300 per lb S.T.C. P. tends to be a little
cleaner as far as fines and dirt goes then A.P.A does . the coal from either place is OK coal but far from being the best out there there are many other companies that produce a better product read this forum and you will find out who has better coal for a better price to start with go to UAE Harmony mine it probably will be your last stop for buying coal high btu value and the lowest ash content you will find.

I had just called Butch a few weeks ago and the price he quoted me wasn't the best. It is a 50 mile drive so i can see they have to make some money for the work hours. I called another person from near 80-81 split and was $15 cheaper, and my friend at work got from the same guy for $25 cheaper. I'm happy with the coal i have now, been a while since i actually seen shiny glass like coal, we will see how it burns through the summer and order some more before the winter.

Is the coal you deliver bagged just marked "Tamaqua"?

If it is. I will say it's the best coal I have ever burned and is well worth the premium paid for it being bagged. It is red ash, low ash, and burns hot. Much better than the bulk delivery I got of reading coal even with the price at 80 bucks more a ton. I simply used that much less.
