Everyone,
On a recent motorcycle trip this past weekend, I traveled down to Centralia from Scranton. What an interesting site! I can see why a lot of the information I obtained from the internet was from an "offroading" website: it was a very desolate and eerie place. It was interesting to see all the smoke from the ground and that cemetery on the hill with the man-made rock enclosure was quite a sight.
I also hit the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour in Scranton before Centralia. That was one of the best and most entertaining tours I've ever been on. I'm glad all us tourists did not have to stay in that trolley car the whole time, as we were really packed in there. Also, it was amazing to witness all the other tourists’ lack of knowledge of anthracite and its uses. In fact, the tour guide, a former miner, was surprised when I told him I heat my home with Anthracite.
Route 6 into NEPA is beautiful and I will definitely take that route in the future!

Hope you can make it to the outing italia Also next time you are planning a trip to NEPA drop me a pm or an email, I might be able to meet you some where and go exploring with you. There are lots of fun roads, points of interest, especially Anthracite related places to go as coal berner said.
Take care and keep the rubber on the road.
