Looks like the product sold by Weil McLain. I know the Weil McLain indirect is made in Europe. I suspect the Triangle Tube product is too. For me and my acid well water the stainless tank was critical. Regular glass lined water heaters would fail in 2-3 years.McGiever wrote:How about this one...it is a Triangle Tube Indirect Tank as was mentioned in an earlier post above:

My dad's Highboy handles their soaker tub with ease. With his boiler, the tankless coil is hooked in series with a 30 gallon Weil McLain indirect. As Stokerscott noted, it takes a big boiler to operate a large indirect properly. An indirect like that 60 gallon TT would require a higher feed rate to work properly, so why not just raise the feed rate now and see how the tankless performs?Pacowy wrote:I'm still not seeing where there's a need to spend $1300+ when the problem may be curable with a couple of setting adjustments. A 520 with a coil can make a lot of DHW even without an indirect.

I was told the Weil McLain units are made by Triangle Tube, or at least the tanks and such. My 30 gallon Weil McLain indirect is almost 20 years old and works perfect, I would have no problem buying another.Looks like the product sold by Weil McLain. I don't know the sourcing for the different parts but there is some European connection (pun intended) because the hookup for the thermostat uses connectors that are common in Europe. I'm very happy with my Weil McLain and it would be my first choice if I ever needed another hot water heater.markviii wrote:I was told the Weil McLain units are made by Triangle Tube, or at least the tanks and such. Any updates? Are you making more hot water or "in hot water"?daluds wrote:The low is set to 160 and high 200, but the thermometer typically shows about 10 degree lower than the settings. It runs around 180, and I just took of 30 seconds on the timer so now it runs 1 minute every 30 minutes. The timer I have runs on 30 minute cycle. What a difference draft makes with the DF520...

Thanks for all the posts!
I have increased the low temp limit, and increased the feed rate which helped a lot. I decided to put in a Marathon hot water heater since I could buy it from HD. I'll feed it with the tankless so should limit the electricity use. I wanted to make sure there was hot water if the boiler went out during the summer. Its amazing since I have been able to keep the DF520 running even in 60 degree weather with the AD-1 draft inducer. I am out of oil so switching to oil isn't an option.

Just running 4 teeth at 170 low. 5 might even be better. The draft inducer makes the DF520 run so much different than without it. Seems to run cooler with the continual draft. I saved over $4,000 in fuel cost last year with the high oil prices, but the coal distributor raised their prices this year.
