Feeder Motor Not Working

Feeder Motor Not Working

PostBy: BThhr On: Sat Apr 02, 2011 11:38 am

My feeder motor is no longer feeding my leisure line pocono stoker. I thought it was the motor itself so i upgraded from the 90k btu to the 110K btu unit (thanks Matt). The stove started up and ran fine but during the night it went out. It seems to have stopped feeding coal. The coal-trol unit is about 3 years old, it is what came with the stove. This happened before I upgraded the burner, just assumed the feeder motor quit. Feed rates settings are for min is 7, max is set at 40. I thought I read someplace with the older coal-trol units the motor should run every 100 seconds. My is not running at all but if i unplug and plug back in it will run and feed. It seems after running a few hours the internal clock or whatever is counting may not be running? Do I need to return it?

Please call us at 315-299-3589 on Monday to discuss the problem you're having. What you're describing is unusual. We'll get you back up and running though. :)

Did you try plugging it into an outlet to make sure its not the motor?

Best best is to call CoalTrol....
Check the advanced settings, maybe it went to IGN Mode (Ignition ON mode where the stoker/blower does not come on). If it has that feature in the software. YOu have to hold the menu button down for a while and go into the Advanced mode.

Talked to the factory and they said to send it all back. Control box, thermostat and control wire. They received it on tuesday, now just waiting for them to call.
