Golden Bride ... good name for the much-anticipated baby / BB that had us so excited.

Follow the link below. At the beginning of the thread you will see the stove pipes in one of the pictures. If your BB takes a large load you might use 3-foot sections instead of 2-foot.

You did a nine job on your stove. I like it.
Well the BB still excites me... The Golden Bride is a small stove having the 12 number on her so the fire pot is 12" round. The same sections as your's should make the job. Thanks

It runs well with the thermostat and keeps a nice even stove temperature. I am very happy with the results.

The next innovation, which I keep promising to do but never get around to, is to point a small fan at the bi-metal thermostat. The fan will be turned on and off by a standard room thermostat, probably one for electric heat since that doesn't require control boxes and extra wiring. So when the room temperature drops, the fan will blow on the bi-metal thermostat and cool it, which will open the air input door and make the stove hotter. Then when the room has warmed up, the fan will go off, the bi-metal thermostat will respond only to the stove temperature itself and will close down the air input door.

How do you fill those stove pipe coal carriers?

My coal is in bags and is stored in my attached garage. So I just cut a corner off the bag with scissors, hoist it by the other corner and with a hand under the bottom, and dump it into the pipes. 2-foot pipes are easy, 3-foot pipes might be clumsy to lift the bag high enough. If the coal is dry there can be a lot of dust, almost invisible unless you shine a light beam on it, so wear a GOOD dust mask, not one of the cheap white ones you buy in Wal Mart or Home Depot. See recommendations at this link:

dlj... Scoop as much as you can into the pipe from in your coal bin and the balance use a grain scoop to top it off. The rounded bottom and lip of the grain scoop fits just nice for this. If your coal is in bags just use the grain scoop.
