OK I installed the old game IL2 Sturmovik WWII Flight Simulator. I had to put a generic PCI sound card in my pc to get a gameport. I hooked up my old Gravis Blackhawk joystick but couldn't find drivers for it on the internet. Gravis.com just leads to whatever company website must have bought them out. So I added it as a 4 button 2-axis joystick, then as a 4 button, 2 axis joystick with throttle and then calibrated it in windows game controllers.
I used to play this game but never extensively. For such an old game it's got a lot of features. The problem is, it's extremely hard to control the plane. I start out on a single mission, and the plane is basicly flying itself. All the weapons and other commands work. However, the plane goes out of control very easily and I can't regain control. This is on easy setting. I would like to reduce the sensitivity of the joystick if possible. I don't recall it being so hard to control.
Just thought I'd give it a try here, will move on to look for IL2 Sturmovik forums.
