My concern now is that the grave has not been filled with soil. It has been 2 days and I know the ground is soft/wet and I know the man that does this, the soil is sitting at his house (he usually keeps it in the truck) and I feel like going over with a wheel barrow and making it right for my grandfather. I keep driving into the cemetary twice a day to check up.

Then do it......Just don't run a foul of the law. I would have figured that there's be a mandated time-frame for the total cover-over on a plot after interment has occurred. Maybe offer to go with him, thrown a tarp down, dump the load on it and hump it in with the wheelbarrow. Hell,I don't know, but anything's got to be better than driving there twice a day to make sure business has been concluded. Good Luck and let us know......

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, all of our parents make an impression on our lives.. My grandfather was a big influence on my life too..

As for the skunk by-the-tail tale.. well I do know this, cause I saw it in action. If you trap a skunk in a small-enough live trap, it can't spray. Something about having to hunch up it's back to make the muscles that squeeze the stink-glands.. I heard about it from a buddy, who was trapping skunks.. I laughed at him and asked him what he used to de-stink the traps.. he told me the skunks can't spray in a trap, and why... I didn't believe him..

Two days later he said come on over, I've got a trapped skunk.. and sure enough he had a skunk in a cage-type livetrap, and it wasn't happy !! It kept trying to raise it's back but the cage kept it confined.. and it didn't spray, my buddy put it in the trunk of his car, and took the skunk for 'a drive'.. he said he put it in the garage of his ex-wife..
