I was just trying to drum up some posts around here. :D

Cranston Coal has been around a while. I know I'm not keeping him in business. I guess not a lot of coal guys surf the net too. ;)

Hello RI. We are right here in Little Compton restoring stoves as fast as we can. If you folks need any coal stuff come on over to the Antique Stove Hospital. Emery

Hi and welcome to the board. Even though I have never been to your store yet you might see me this summer on my way to Marthas V where my wifes buddy lives. you have the best reputation and are obviously a craftsman. I am sure you are making a killing right now and good luck to you. If you come cross a coal AGA let me know. If I buy it I will invite you to my divorce but it will be worth it. Just a throwback to my childhood. Completely useless stoves but who cares. Some useless things still have value apparently - look at the WH.

Can you get into RI without a passport? Now with Whitey safe in Plymouth, MA, the politicians may be securing your borders for obvious reasons..... Where is the coal price down there this summer? With heating oil around 3.65 prebuy, I'd be talking to friends about getting together a TT load of bagged or bulk. If you thought last winter was 'Fun', I'd reevaluate my reserves earlier this season.

Is that new LL unit online yet? Hand feds? :? :x

You can get here without a passport, The question is, why would you want to? ;)

I think my coal dealer was getting near $280 a ton so a truckload might be something I'm interested in. Not sure how it would work.

I've been using my little trailer to get half a ton at a time. I usually only have to make 2 or 3 trips a season.

Hi Guys.
I’m another coal burning Rhode Islander just saying hello. I just installed a Harman s-160 boiler this summer I’m quite new at it and some other guys on another thread have been helping me get it going. (This is a great sight) I think I’m getting the hang of it now it has been burning for a week but I almost lost it a couple of times. I bought six tons of nut size anthracite bagged at $280/ton from Pellets Direct. Just over the line in Oxbridge. Ma. Cranston coal told me $65/ton to deliver. But Pellets Direct was $65 total. I do have one Question now. At the end of season is there a special cleaning that I have to do? Glenn

If you search around here, you'll find good instructions.

I don't personally do anything beyond a good vacuuming but others will tell you about washing it with a backing soda solution, oiling the inside with WD 40 or similar and leaving a light bulb in it so the heat drives out any moisture.

I'm sure their stoves look nicer than mine, but 8 years later, mine still burns so decide what it's worth to you I guess.
