My husband and I are really looking forward to a new coal stove, but have had very bad issues with the company we bought it from (Maine-ly Stoves in Southern Maine). We purchased a Pocono coal stove with our tax return April 3rd 2011, and have been getting the runaround regarding delivery of said "mysterious" coal stove which has YET to appear. We finally went to the police and they are going to the Attorney General due to several other complaints against the company. THAT SAID... we are looking to purchase a coal stove asap. Does anyone know of any reputable dealers anywhere from Augusta down to Manchester NH? We haven't received our money back yet from Maine-ly Stoves (hopefully soon with the Atty General involved) but need to start pricing and could really use some help from anyone. Thanks so much!! OH! btw, we live in southern maine .....

Thank you Eddie!!! If Matt or Dave see this, feel free to weigh in... we REALLY want your Pocono stove, but our frustration with Maine-Ly Stoves kind of leaves us wary. They kept saying "we ordered it but the manufacturer is having issues?"

I sent a PM to Matthaus about this issue....

Also this post may be moved to "Leisure Line Stoves" so that it will have a faster response.

I was at the LL shop in Berwick, PA last Tuesday and spoke with both Matt and Dave, and I can assure you that you will get a call from them as soon as they ascertain what is going on with the dealer. They are ALL ABOUT customer support and the issue with a dealer is where they will excel; 'The Buck does literally stop on their desktop!' Unfortunate way to meet, but welcome to the NEPA Forum, and we hope things will only improve from this day forward. WN :eek2: :fear: :flex: :surrender: :dancing:

Hello :D ... thank you for your reply! People here are quick to respond, and I am looking forward to chatting once my new stove is actually in my basement 8-) I am hopeful to bring this to resolution soon. My preference would be to receive a refund from Maine-Ly Stoves and then get the stove from some other dealer. I sent a PM to Matt and Dave.... I am very impressed with this forum. You'll see me here again soon, probably with questions about the stove -

If you know how to access your 'PM' section, there is one waiting there. Up at the top of the page in the center you will see a small pic of an envelop, and if it is flashing, you will have an active message. You will see it flashing and you do have a new message. Click on it and read in a secure environment. This is a bump on the way to a comfortable winter at your home, and the forum members will be helpful with any aspect of heating with coal. Feel free to ask all the question you may have, and later, feel free to share with others to lower the learning curve for them as well.  :)

Hi jones2003.
I am sorry you have been caught up in this mess. Mainely has not been a dealer for sometime for obvious reasons. They have been removed from our website a while ago and should not be advertising that they are a dealer. We will surely do whatever we can to help with this matter. Again, I really do apologize. You are doing the right thing by taking legal action against them . There is no problem on our end as far as delivering stoves. Please give us a call [Phone Number Removed] .

Now that is what I call Direct Customer Support!!! Thanks Dave for resolving the role of this dealer, and the role of the manufacturer in this situation. I advised jones2003 that he might want to go one step further and consider a nice boiler package if the time were right. Perfect opportunity.

jones2003,
Let the Forum know how you make out with the BAD stove dealer in southern Maine.

Also, Dave & Matt at Leisure Line will take great care of all customers period.

After you have your coal heater or boiler, be sure to post pictures for us. We love pics..... :nice:

is there a problem with your kodiak? As with most of the represented stove companies here,Alaska also has top notch customer service..

we don't hear much good customer service stories from Harman but thier stove is good.... coorporate response is something to be desired tho ;)

It's called an embarrassment of riches. We have the Alaska camp, the baseburner must haves, there is nothing else to consider but EFM guys, the coalnewbie AnthraKing is the best in the world nut, only Hitzer will do it fans etc.etc. I could go on and on. For a small market there are so many GREAT choices out there each with it's own fan club. Indeed an embarrassment of riches and many great choices. Now if only I could find a truck that I didn't think was a load of cr*p  .
