MK II top door

Well I am done curing the paint on my MK II, put a wood fire in it and it did the job, I noticed while I was burning it in my driveway, that the top door has a slight gap up on the left corner I can see the glow of the fire slightly for about 2 inches, should I let it be. the gap is very little maybe the thickness of the paper from a matchpack.

I had a similar condition on my MK 1, I tightened the door by bending the door latch striker (the part attached to the stove) a very small amount. It's right when you grab the handle and pull/push, the door should be tight against the stove, but not so tight that it's difficult to latch.

Also, check the door gasket to see if any sections are missing or damaged. gasket material is available and it's easy to change.

Just for the records, On my MK II top flue vent, I take it the stove pipe crimped end goes in the stove. I know this is the way for a wood stove so the creosote does not leak back down.

You are correct crimped end goes inside of stove flue or you can flip the

pipe around and try outside of flue with coal either way will work have fun

And don't use galvanized stovepipe with coal, black only.
