I was wondering where everyone enjoys vacationing in the summer. A poll might be interesting (fishing, hunting, beach, mountains, camping, hotel, etc.). Get some ideas for family vacations. I am camping at Knoebels early next week for a few days.

I usually vacation at home next to my pool and on the porch. My thought is that we spend a fortune maintaining the "grounds", so it is nice to sit back and enjoy it once in a while. As much as I enjoy being at home, my wife has other ideas about a vacation.

Wife and I enjoy camping. So do the puppers. We don't camp at knoebels though because we live close to the park. This weekend at Hickory Run SP and next weekend at Worlds End SP. I prefer the mountains over the beach.

Used to camp quite a lot when the kids were young. Now we enjoy taking cruises. If you play your cards right and do your homework it costs less $100 apiece per day. That includes your food, room, entertainment, and transportation to some very beautiful places. A bit salter than camping but we enjoy it more.

I need to get away or I will just keep on working. When I drive trhough town I see my past, current, or upcoming projects going on, that takes my brain right to work. We usually go hunting somewhere.

Gosh, we haven't had a vacation for years but when we were doing the vacation thing we planned them around my quest to be in all 50 states. Now that the kids are older - they are not as devoted to the quest as I am - DK and I go mostly for 3 to 5 day get aways. Our next trip is going to be to Albuquerque, NM just as soon as DK saves up enough frequent flyer miles for the two of us. New Mexico is one of the 4 states I need to complete my quest of being in all 50 states. The others are North and South Dakota, Hawaii and Alaska. The Dokotas are hard to get because they are fly over states - you have to make it a point to stop there. If we aren't in pursuit of the quest, we take a our travel trailer and go to places within a couple of hundred miles of home for a few days. I hear that some folks are lost when their children grow up but me, I'm having a ball. Take care, Lisa

Lisa,
My wife lacks only Hawaii and Vermont. We are going to HI for her graduation from NP school in a couple of years. Vermont is easy.

We got Vermont a couple of years ago when my husband attended Bryant University in Rhode Island. Since we were in the neighborhood we went to Vermont, too. It's beautiful. My husband is occasionally called upon to go to HI for his work. The next time he goes during the summer, I'll tag along. Take Care, Lisa

Make sure to get up to high knob and Canyon vista overlooks while camping, awesome views. IF you like to swim much larger area with little less sand is down next to fairground entrance. ;)
