House bill 40, better known as the extension to the Castle Doctrine, is headed to Tom Corbett's desk.
" It`s called the castle doctrine which is a little bit of a misnomer because it implies that you can defend yourself in your home. You already have that right. What this does is it expands the right to defend yourself that you have a legal right to. Whether that be in your car, at the mall, walking your dog , if someone attacks you you have the right to defend yourself," says Senator Richard Alloway, R-33rd District
I don't recall anyone ever being prosecuted for shooting anyone in their home but you had a "duty to retreat" before using deadly force. The most important part about this legislation is it removes the possibility of someone questioning whether it's justified during the crime when thy really need to be concentrating on more important things like saving their life.

But I guess that's how they do things in metro Boston .... Sit down for tea with rapists, gang bangers, & terrorists ...
