Dutch Mountain

I seen that mine about ten years ago, but I had no interest in exploring it at the time. Spent about eleven hours near it putting out a forest fire. It's in our "primary coverage" area, and we have detailed maps for search and rescue, but I haven't venture off the beaten path since I sold my Jeep. If I knew it was on state land, I'd have no problem going to it, but I don't like to trespass.

Its on state game land. Game commission does have some parking spots for hunters leading to the mine.

Idigghx... Just before you go down towards Forkston rocks, on your left looks like a creek bed next to a cabin. Its a actually a state game road that leads back to that mine. Long way around from colley or mildred but at going this way you dont trespass on private property. Last I remember coal mine road kind of dead ended before you got to the mine anyway i thought. That game road will take you right to the face of the mine.

Dutch Mt, Forkston Mt, Briskey Mt... Really they are all part of the North Mountain Range. Whichever you grew up with calling it works for me, unless your calling the 5-0 or ambulance :o

edit: thiers the hole in the ground. Fun getting back in their isnt it. Went back in since I started this thread, and wow the road is like a damn creek bed anymore.
