So. The weather later this week looks like this (see pic).

Question….Is there ANY reason why I can’t let ‘er burn despite the warm weather?

Remember….I have a hand-fired insert with no combustion blower or flue/draft helper outer.
I’m trying to keep safety in mind – so….If the outside temps are too warm and don’t allow sufficient draw up the chimney……what are the consequences? The worst case is that my fire dies on its own??? Or will my stove ‘back-up’ into the living area?

Don’t worry about the stove making the house too warm – I have big ‘ole windows to counter that!

Please help me decide - Let ‘er burn or let ‘er die?

But I'm LAZY.

My Harman is super easy to maintain the burn.....But I hate cleaning it out and relighting it. I'm just lazy.

Hi Gary, I understand the LAZY !! I too hate cleaning out the stove and starting over. BUT...

For SE. Michigan, I don't see any temps cool enough for needing heat untill about 8-9 days from now. As much as you don't like it, I'd still let 'er go out, and plan on building another fire around Halloween.

Done.

I'll clean it out and fire it up again when this freaky warm spell ends.

I even shut down the stoker today! You know it is too warm for stoves when the stokers are off.
