The kicker is that when you need the warranty they won't honor it anyway. This happened to me after I bought my step-son an airsoft gun. I bought the warranty because I knew it was going to break and when we went back to get it repaired we were told that the warranty program was canceled and they weren't honoring the warranties they sold.

I don't buy extended warranties on anything anymore.

I never get warranties. If it breaks I'll find a way to fix it. ;)

Hey, just think of all the jobs that aren't created by not honoring these warranties, now thats the American way of doing business.

Extended warrantees are generally a poor value, Consumer Reports has been saying it for years. I always say no.

How about Bet Buy's "buy back" program? You buy a $1,000 TV, you PAY them to get into the buy back program. Then in 12 months they will give you 30% of the purchase price toward the purchase of a new one! Arghhhhhhh! Do people really do that? Why don't they just say "Rent a $1,000 TV for $700 a year".
