I just picked up 2 ton of this Centralia Rice coal at the Fall River, MA location. (It is the same ownership, but is called Eastern Ice, Co., if you call the 800 no. on the receipt, it connects you to the Brockton store. Very nice people to deal with.

Note: Fall River stores the bags in their freezers. Our 1st (frozen) ton came from there, and left a lot of water in the basement. My husband called the 800 no. a week later, expecting the FR office. He wanted them to take a pallet out of the freezer to thaw. It was the Brockton office that answered. After explaining why he was calling, Brockton said they don't store theirs in the freezers, and they would send down a pallet to the FR store that we could p/u the following morning.
Very good service. 8-)

$275/Ton - bagged - picked up

Cranston Coal (RI)

$328/Ton - bulk - delivered
(Cranston Coal was also very friendly and pleasant on phone.)

So glad you scheduled delivery when you did, going up up up....all going to China. Tamaqua limiting to one high lift full per day. Scarce is the new word for coal locally come January. Glad you are happy with Blaschak Coal, we are as well.

I just picked up 2 tons of bulk Stockton pea for $244/ton delivered (and after sales tax). It would only have been $210/ton (before sales tax) if I had picked it up myself. I figure I'll mix it in with my Blaschak, as I've seen on this site where Stockton anthracite is anybody's guess as to its brokered source, and it is not generally considered to be premium (to state it in politically correct terms).

For comparison bulk Blaschak pea was $269/ton (before both sales tax and delivery charges) from the same source. $59/ton more than Stockton.

Prices like that are just plain extortion. I wouldn't buy a screwdriver from that store. Even The Stove Place in Shrewsbury doesn't charge that much, & they're VERY expensive. Plenty of places around the state to get it much cheaper. I'd burn oil at that price - it's not even worth the extra effort.

I get mine from http://www.squierlumber.com/pages/stock_status.cfm

WOW .... they went WAY up since I bought from them! :eek2: I paid $289. The season before I paid $259. Getting crazy out there ..... :no1:
