Nice fire! :D That's how all criminals should be dealt with. Thieves, rapists, molesters - put them on a boat & blow it up. Great idea! 8-)

And they say capitol punishment doesn't work. There's a group of pirates who won't be causing terror on the high seas anymore. Nice work Ruskies!

Here is the rest of the story!!

How about that - The Russians captured the Pirates, tied them up, put them on the boats, then set them all on fire - puff no more Pirates!

NO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS B.S. HERE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

This video shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somalian pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker. The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties.

All explanations are in Russian with a single exception of when a wounded pirate says something in English and the Russian soldier says "This is not a fishing boat". All conversations between the commandos are in Russian. If you don't understand Russian, the pictures speak for themselves.

The soldiers freed their compatriots and the tanker. The Russian Navy Commandos moved the pirate back to their own (pirate) ship, searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives and then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it.

The commandos sank the pirate ship along with the pirates and without any court proceedings, lawyers etc. That is, they used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hung.

I would think from now on, Russian ships will not be targets for Somali pirates.

There was nothing in that video to confirm that the pirates were on that burning ship, although it gives that impression. Another video says that the pirates were detained.

At the very beginning of the video it says "capture pirates and destroy their ship".

It would help a lot if we could translate the comments in Russian while the ship was burning.

This may be another reason why we haven't heard much about the Pirates lately. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/pirate-at ... d=16352840

There is concern when ships try to protect themselves but no concern when pirates attack private ships.

Why do we have a navy if they can't cope with a bunch of rag tag pirates?

I clicked on "watch on youtube" to see that video there. Can't get access unless I provide Google with my phone number!!!! Bastards.
I always get update messages from various places like Adobe. I just gave up on one, I think it was Adobe Reader or something; they always try to sneak in other things. So I was tired and just clicked the update on whatever it was. It wanted to install Google toolbar, Google Chrome, etc. So I let it install , and then my Hotmail email wouldn't work anymore! It trashed it. I uninstalled anything Google I could find and the Hotmail works again.

Talk about piracy! I don't give out my phone # if I can help it. [/b]

Right, "Capture" and "Destroy". Still doesn't say they were destroyed with their boats. It'd be nice. But I highly doubt that's what they did.
