Well I guess I'm screwed! I'm in the process of switching out my Maytag household appliances as they need it to Whirlpools. I only have the cook top and oven to go. The cook top is 20 plus years old and needs to be replaced but the oven like everything else is under 8 years and a piece of junk. I made the decision to switch because the repair guy told me that that is the Whirlpool is what he sees less of on his calls. I guess you just can't win. (sigh) Lisa

I should post a picture. I junked a dryer my in laws gave me because it "stopped working" one day.

I found two quarters WELDED together attached to something in there. Temperature sensor or something. Good thing there wasn't a lot of lint because it would have been a fire for sure.

I use dryer lint to make "fire starters" so when I go hunting, I'll have them, just in case...

Yeah nowadays it seems unless you spend 4 figures on a washer it's doomed to fail in just a couple years. Just another way we're all being bumped to the lower class, bit by bit. :mad:
