coal ash wanted ASAP

coal ash wanted ASAP

We received a request from the Springfield Vt hydroelectric plant asking if we could provide any coal ashes which they presently require to seal a leak in the dam. I returned their call and apparently they are serious. Go figure. I dispose of mine daily and cant help him out. Nows the time to get rid of your pile. Call John W at the dam at 802 223 7141. He's expecting your call. I dont know how far they"ll drive but if your pile is anywhere near Vt you're probably close enough .

How much do they pay a ton for the ash  If they buy coal for me I'll make them all the ashes they want. Will they carry the tubs out for me too  All kidding aside, it's great to find someone that wants it. :D

You might want to see if "Mt Smitty" is open for mining. IIRC Smitty dumps his ashes on his property at times.

I have a 55 gal trash can (full) that I keep for use on the driveway but that's it.

I was looking for a cabin up that way, but I may look elsewhere after hearing about them plugging a leak with coal ash....lol

Just pick one with enough elevation and you should be fine. :D

I'm sure the request is legitimate. It works quite well. When the head stock gate is closed, water still leaks past the side rails of the gate. Dumping just a few wheel barrow loads in front of the gate will reduce the flow to a trickle.
A few good old coal ashes can cut your heart rate in half when you are walking up a 12 foot diameter tube with a flashlight to the base of the dam.

Only way I'm trudging through the picker bushes & digging up wet, soggy coal ash is if I get paid by the mile .... and get a bonus. ;)

IDK, Smitty, wouldn't it be pretty cool to be personally responsible for the export of an actual product created in MA? You might make the news, though back east it probably would trigger an investigation. :gee:

I have about a ton worth of ash out behind the shop...maybe I should keep adding to it as a retirement fund.
