ok the question is how often do you guys wait to replace them ?

I think the answer to this might be stove specific. On my Vermont, I almost never had to replace a gasket. I imagine over time I might have to change to door gaskets - it's currently retired so I don't have a time frame for it, but its in the many years. I can imagine some stoves might need certain gaskets changed more frequently than others.

I change mine every year whether it needs it or not. They aren't very expensive and I sleep better at night. If you want to test whether or not you NEED to change it, take a dollar bill and close your door on it. If you can pull it out, you need to change your gasket. Good luck, Lisa
